What makes me happy?

There is nothing that makes me happier than looking at this face! Luke is such a pleasant and happy baby, we couldn't be luckier. Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks? We love our boy!

Farewell to Summer Dutch Oven Night

Last Friday we got some friends together and had a dutch oven dinner. Rob and Barrett were the chefs. Of course I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of the final project. We enjoyed ribs, chicken, potato's, and chocolate heath bar cake for dessert. It was delicious! Good food, good company, and good fun!

Hair Woes

When Luke was born he had a pretty decent head of hair. Here he is at about four days old (gotta love the hospital pacifier that is the size of his face!)

Then he began to lose his hair, but only on top. This is when we affectionately referred to him as "our little old man." Here he is at about six weeks.

Now it is finally starting to come back in on top! Here he is at 9 weeks.

Luke and Jack's Photo Shoot

My good friend and neighbor, Stephanie McGee, took Luke and Jack's (the little guy that was blessed the same day as Luke) pictures a few weeks back. It was quite the process between feeding, sleeping and changing diapers but in the end I think the pictures turned out great! If anyone in the Salt Lake area is looking for a great photographer let me know and I'll put you in touch with Steph (her business is called Wasatch Digital Imaging.)

The pictures of Luke and Jack together turned out so cute. This was one of my favorites.

I thought these turned out great. I especially love the one of Luke because it shows all of his rolls!

He slept through the night!!

Okay, so not technically through the whole night, but he did go the whole night without eating. We put him down at 10:30 and he woke up at 5:00 (the time he normally does), but rather than feeding him I just kept putting his pacifier in his mouth until he fell back asleep and then he slept until 7:30! I actually feel rested, which means he'll probably wake up 5 times tonight. Anyway, I'm just going to enjoy it while I can.

Rock Climbing

After devoting so much of this blog to Luke, I decided it was time for a post about Barrett and one of his favorite hobbies. Not only is rock climbing one of his passions, he is also really good at it. In fact, the first time we met we were rock climbing!

This route is on Storm Mountain up Big Cottonwood Canyon. The first picture shows the climb from a distance and gives you an idea of where he is on the subsequent pictures. Barrett can't wait until Luke fits into an infant harness.

He would probably strap Luke to his back right now if I would let him, but I told him that Luke has to at least be walking first!

First Boating Trip

We took Luke out boating for the first time! He seemed to like it and the boat pretty much just put him to sleep. Here are some pictures from the outing.

Here is Uncle Gary teaching Luke how to drive the boat.
